Please Note:
Regarding work permits, there are two types of Work Permits i.e. Class
Work Permits for an investor with TIC Certificate or Bank proof of US$300,000
after completing a Tanzania Immigration Form I (TIF 1) and attaching 6
photographs, CV, Company Registration, Memarts. Evidence of business premises,
copy of passport pages showing nationality and validity of passport and a
covering letter to Director of Immigration and second type of is Class "B" Work
Permit for employees of the Company where documents required after completing
the application form include 5 photographs, CV of each applicant, proof of
academic and professional qualification, job description for each applicant,
Company's Memarts and Certificate of Incorporation, its Organization structure
employment contract of the employee and photocopy of passport pages indicating
nationality, dates of birth. The cost of Class "A" Work Permit is US$1620 and
that of Class "B" is US$620.
As for Visa, an ordinary Visa is issued at any Tanzania mission abroad
and it enables the holder to be granted a visitor's pass at any entry point in
Tanzania. Alternatively a visitor can get a Visa at the entry point in
Tanzania.
This is normally valid for a maximum period of 3 months. The fee is
US$50 for U.S.A. citizens.
There is Business Visa which is issued to prospective investors who
intend to visit Tanzania for purposes of establishing professional and business
contacts and making arrangements for investments in Tanzania.
The validity of the Visa varies from one month to six months and costs
US$200 to US$100 for a period of 1-3 months.
Establishing a Legal address and tax presence is done through completion
of relevant Forms when registering the company in Tanzania as a foreign or
local branch and applying for a Business Licence. You are required to indicate
the physical location and postal address of the company and your reliable
business contact in Tanzania.
If you strictly follow the legal procedures and fulfill the stipulated
requirements there should be no reason to resort to any corrupt practices.
